The last stop on our trip was Vancouver Island. We headed to the Pacific coast around Tofino and Ucluelet. The drive from the ferry terminal takes around 3 hours, and is spectacular all around. Wonderful lakes, big forests, and a similar sense of grandeur as the US Northwest.
The coast around Tofino is rugged, with inlets leading to calmer waters and little islands, many of which are inhabited. Highly recommended if you're into long walks on windy beaches and kayaking.
On our morning drive back to the ferry we passed Sproat Lake. Approaching from a high vantage point, the sun was shining brightly but there was still mist over the lake. An amazing sight as the sun slowly crept through the mist.
